Residents and staff from Harper Fields Care Home in Balsall Common were in for a treat with a visit to the local cathedral this week as we were invited to a special dementia friendly songs of praise service.

Residents from the home were accompanied by staff from Harper Fields who made an extra special trip to volunteer on days off to support the residents. We are excited to share the service is scheduled to be broadcasted on BBC’s ‘Songs of Praise’ at 1.15pm on Sunday May 12th during the start of Dementia action week.

One resident commented: “It was the best performance I have seen in years. The music and atmosphere were so moving.” General Manager, Hayley Wilkinson commented: “Our residents and staff had a wonderful time.
