St. Basil’s launch their Youth Advisory Board and Senior Leadership Team Workshop
On Friday 25th September, St. Basil’s celebrated the launch of a brand new Workshop with members of the Youth Advisory Board (YAB) and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) the first time in St Basils’ history that we have brought groups together in this way to review and upgrade our Youth Standards!
Sudais, YAB Chair, started: “The session by taking us through the timeline and history of the Standards.
“We then worked together in groups, with YAB and SLT members exploring the Standards alongside young people and looking at the realities of what they mean in practice. Using our ‘Keep It, Bin It, Level Up!’ exercise, we asked: “Are the Standards still relevant for 2026 and beyond? What should we keep? What needs to change? What’s missing?
The Standards were put to the test, challenged and reviewed through the experiences and voices of young people making sure that their views are at the heart of what comes next. It was a fantastic session and a brilliant example of Team St Basils working together and listening to young people, and there’s more to come… our new Youth Standards are coming soon!
CEO Marsha Blake also led a great session with young people looking at the St Basils Business Plan, giving young people another opportunity to have their voices heard and shape our services for the future! A huge thank you went out to everyone involved for creating such a positive opportunity to hear, value and act on the voice of young people.
