The UK's largest Vaisakhi celebrations saw though take part in music and magical unity, for an unforgettable experiences in Victoria Park, in Smethwick, as themed attractions celebrated Sikh heritage and community spirit.
As people were able to dive into the heart of the spirituality of the occasion, at the Darbar and Langar area, hundreds immersed themselves in traditional arts and crafts at the Bazaar, whilst others engaged themselves in family-friendly activities at the Kids Zone and explored the beauty of community service at the Seva Corner. It was a historic first, as the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was transported from Guru Nanak Gurdwara Smethwick in a golden palki (palanquin), marking a significant moment for the event.
Meanwhile, in Coventry, celebrations saw a parade in the city, which included colourful floats and thousands of participants, whilst, in Wolverhampton, the festival in Wolverhampton - organized by the Sedgley Street Gurdwara - saw a parade from the Guru Nanak Satsang Gurdwara lead up to celebrations at West Park in the city. In other areas, Gravesend saw thousands of worshipers and followers expected for a parade, whilst in Hadley, in Shropshire, the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara hosted the festivities there, where celebrations also took place.
