The City of Wolverhampton Council has been marking Learning Disability Week, and held a walk around Wednesfield Park followed by coffee and cake for staff and residents at its in-house residential home, Duke Street bungalows, on Wednesday.
The theme of Learning Disability Week 2026 is 'Do you see me?', and Councillor Linda Leach, Cabinet Member for Adults, said: "Learning Disability Week is about making sure people are seen, heard and valued, and that really came to life at Duke Street.
"It was a pleasure to spend time with residents and staff, enjoying a relaxed walk together and sharing coffee and cake. These moments matter, bringing people together, celebrating individuals and showing what inclusive, supportive communities look like in practice."
