Collaboration and community at choir practice in Muswell Hill

Would you like to try your hand at singing as part of a collective, community group, but you have perhaps lacked the confidence or time to get involved?

Why not consider joining The Collaboration Choir, which is returning to Muswell Hill (Muswell Hill Methodist Church, 28 Pages Lane, London, N10 1PP) this Autumn with free trial sessions on Tuesday evenings (8pm – 9:30pm)? There’s no better time to join as this popular, local community choir now has a new Choir Director Amy Cordina, who is an experienced Disney Teaching Artist, Vocal Balance Accredited Vocal Coach and trained in dance and musical theatre.

Bringing her creative energy, sense of fun and warmth to the role, Amy loves nothing more than to see someone’s confidence blossom in her choirs. She commented: “I really believe that with the right support, singing together can be a transformative, joyous experience and a brilliant way to build confidence that you can take away and weave into your everyday life”.

The Muswell Hill choir welcomes complete beginners alongside more experienced singers, with no audition and no requirement to read music. Members come together to laugh, learn contemporary pop songs, make new friends and sing in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Anyone in the local community – whether they consider themselves a singer or not – is welcome to give the choir a try. Amy added: “I’m excited to be taking over this evening choir in Muswell Hill.

“Not only will singing together give people a midweek boost, there’s also a real sense of purpose to be gained from the charity fundraising we do – we’re building up to something very exciting this Autumn and I’d love to see as many of the local Muswell Hill community join us as possible!” Part of The Collaboration Choir’s growing network of 24 community choirs founded by Carrie Rawlings, the Muswell Hill group is built around giving people a chance to do something that makes them smile, singing and socialising.
