Ares Games to distribute Draco Ideas / Eclipse Editorial games

Ares Games announces a partnership with the Spanish game publisher Draco Ideas /Eclipse Editorial to bring the English edition of its games to the retail worldwide.

The first titles are releasing in December: the new strategy and conquest game Dark Kingdoms, alongside the new editions of Reconquista and RatLand, and its new expansions RatLand: The Conquest of the Port, RatLand: Automa, and the Rat Miniatures.

Draco Ideas and Eclipse Editorial are two Spanish publishing houses unified into a single company, maintaining the identity of each brand. Draco Ideas publishes historical simulation and wargames, while Eclipse Editorial is focused on narrative and family games.

Dark Kingdoms is set in 5th century Britannia, at the height of the clash between the Celtic peoples and the Germanic invasions. Each player leads a faction with its own king or leader: The Cerdic’s Saxons in the south, the Eomer’s Angles in the east, Hengist's Jutes in the north and Vortigern's Britons, the legitimate but troubled ruler. Designed by Marco Antonio Ocampo, the game can be played in competitive, team (2 vs 2) and solo modes, and combines resource management, construction, area control, and epic battles between the four rival factions.

Dark Kingdoms was funded on Gamefound and will ship to stores as soon as backers’ fulfilment is completed. Designed by the same author, Reconquista 2nd Edition brings the wars of 11th-century Spain to the table, combining resource management, territorial conquest, battles, and sieges, as four rival kingdoms fight for control of the Iberian Peninsula: Castile and León, Aragon, Seville, or Zaragoza.

Playable by three or four people, in Reconquista players manage their kingdom, collect income from their territories, recruit troops, and build castles before moving their armies across the map to conquer new lands. Originally published in 2018 in Spanish, Reconquista will be finally available in English language.
