Celebrating his near four-decade-long hip hop career, the legendary rapper Rakim, aka William Griffin Jr, will be bringing his UK Tour to Birmingham's O2 Institute this year.
Rakim formed the blueprint of Hip-Hop; and is famed for hits such as ‘I Ain’t No Joke’ and ‘Paid In Full’. The Long Island native is known as a lyrical master, and was one half of the influential duo, Eric B. and Rakim, which made one of the genre’s most celebrated DJ and MC collaborations of all time.
Fellow-legendary rapper and songwriter, Kool Moe Dee, said: "Rakim is basically the inventor of flow. We were not even using the word flow until Rakim came along. It was called rhyming, it was called cadence, but it wasn't called flow.
“Rakim created flow!" Rakim will be playing the O2 Institute on Thursday 16th May.
