On the occasion of Wine Paris, Bottega presents Gold Stardust at its stand, the wine at the top of the quality ladder of the innovative Prosecco Premium Vintage Collection, created after years of study and research by Bottega.
The clear goal of the Veneto-based winery, a well-established leader in sparkling wines in the demanding Travel Retail market, has been to fully exploit the potential of Prosecco, so that it can compete on equal terms with the best Champagne and Metodo Classico sparkling wines produced worldwide. At the trade fair in the French capital, a special place will therefore be reserved for Gold Stardust, the latest release in Bottega's Prosecco Premium Vintage collection.
This is a Prosecco DOC Extra Brut vintage 2021, the highlight of the project that Bottega began developing more than ten years ago, with the aim of producing Prosecco of the highest quality, extending fermentation times and thus obtaining wines with a complex character and good longevity. Specifically, at the end of the second fermentation, the wine is left for at least 11 months in contact with the yeasts, which, thanks to the autolysis process, release substances that are important for the body, structure and aroma of the wine. Finally, a dosage syrup is added, made with a portion of wine aged in oak barrels.
The production process lasts a minimum of 12 months. The selection of grapes grown in individual vineyards in the most suitable plots among the UNESCO World Heritage hills and ageing in new “horizontal” autoclaves, the result of the most advanced technological research applied to quality winemaking, together with long fermentation times and a golden bottle completely covered with 5,000 hand-placed glass crystals, determine a retail price of €250.
The “Prosecco Premium Vintage Collection” line includes four other sparkling wines: Gold Cru Vintage 2023 Extra Brut, Gold Extra Brut Vintage 2023, Gold Diamond Vintage 2022 Extra Brut and Black Stardust Vintage 2021 Extra Brut. The latter, available from the end of 2025, is characterised by nine months of ageing.
The innovative “total black” packaging makes the bottle unique, studded with black glass crystals, positioned by hand to give a stardust effect. The Bottega family, which has four centuries of history in the world of wine and grappa, founded the company which is now both a winery and a distillery.
It is based in Bibano di Godega (TV), 50km north of Venice, where it produces grappa, wines and liqueurs. Among the grappas, the fine selections of single grape varieties and barrique-aged distillates stand out.
The Bottega wine range includes Prosecco, including the well-known Bottega Gold, and other sparkling wines with great personality. Amarone, Ripasso, Chianti Gallo Nero, Brunello di Montalcino and other great red wines are produced in separate wineries in Valpolicella, Chianti and Montalcino.
The Bottega range is completed by a wide selection of fruit and cream liqueurs. The company distributes its products in 165 countries around the world.
For many years, Bottega S.p.A. has been firmly committed to sustainability, which has led to real and concrete results in reducing its impact on the environment, society and the economy.
