Fans have speculated that Diljit Dosanjh secretly tied the knot.

Rumours first came to light when an old interview with Kiara Advani resurfaced. Whilst promoting Good Newwz, which also starred Diljit, Kiara said she was the only cast member without a child.

This appeared to suggest that Diljit is a father, and rumours were fuelled further when internet sleuths discovered a photo of the singer and actor purportedly getting married to Punjabi singer Nisha Bano. In the picture, Diljit was dressed in a denim shirt.

But Nisha’s red lehenga and jewellery led to the belief that the picture was from their wedding ceremony. Some reports also suggested that the pair have a child together.

While Diljit has not addressed the rumours, Nisha Bano broke her silence on the matter. Dispelling the claims, Nisha clarified that she is married to singer Sameer Mahi adding that while her marital status is well-known in Punjab, it seems to have been overlooked in Bollywood circles.

She wrote: “Somebody should ask me as well, they have made me somebody’s wife, this news is getting viral and people are tagging me in videos and photos.

“The Punjabis know that I am Sameer Mahi’s wife but who will make Bollywood understand this?” On social media, fans had a variety of responses.

Agreeing with Nisha’s claim that her marital status might not be known in the Hindi film industry, one said: “All the Bollywood people are drunk.” Another said the viral picture has increased her fame.

“Enjoy the fame and enjoy the funny side of it.” Others said the photo is edited, with one saying:

“I know this is an edited photo. Looks clear.”

Another agreed: “Anyone can photoshop a picture, stop spreading rumours, leave people alone.” Although Diljit Dosanjh’s marital status remains unknown, his music career continues to go from strength to strength.

After performing at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding extravaganza, he was a surprise guest at Ed Sheeran’s Mumbai concert. Ed invited Diljit onto stage and the pair belted out the latter’s hit ‘Lover‘.

The duo’s collaboration received thunderous applause from concertgoers. They were left spellbound by the seamless fusion of Punjabi lyrics with Ed’s signature voice.

He has now teamed up with US rapper Saweetie for the lively ‘Khutti’. On working with Diljit, Saweetie said: “I had a great time working with Diljit on this track. ‘Khutti’ really brings that fun summer energy, and I can’t wait for the fans to hear it.

“This collaboration has been an opportunity for us to grow as artists and explore different sounds. Icy girls are international, so it’s only fitting that I take us global and team up with the best of the best.”
