Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is once again asking the public to help pick the potential winner of the Corporate Partnership Award category at its annual recognition awards.

Taking place on Friday 25th September 2026 at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham, the charity’s annual Saving Lives Charity Ball recognises the lifesaving aircrew as well as the volunteers, fundraisers, supporters, and corporate partners who help make its daily missions possible. Following an internal vote amongst its staff, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity needs the public’s help to finalise this year’s Corporate Partnership Award nominee shortlist.

The shortlisted corporate partners are:

·         A R Richards, Shropshire

·         Wye Valley Group, Herefordshire

·         Cheltenham Racecourse, Gloucestershire

·         ISO Quality Services Ltd, Worcestershire

·         M6toll, Staffordshire

·         Wall James Chappell, West Midlands

Emma Wood, head of fundraising and engagement for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “We are truly grateful for the exceptional support of our corporate partners across the six counties we serve.

“Their support is as vital today as it was when the charity started 35 years ago. Without their commitment, our lifesaving pre-hospital emergency service simply could not operate. The public vote for the award shortlist highlights their incredible generosity, especially as choosing just one winner from such an outstanding group of nominees is no easy task.”

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity:

1.    Celebrating 35 years of operations: Since founding in May 1991, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has been there in moments of medical emergency and trauma, providing advanced clinical care when it matters most. The charity has planned a programme of activity across 2026, more details of which can be found at: midlandsairambulance.com

2.    Our Service area: Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is one of the longest established, largest and busiest air ambulance operators in the UK. We serve the largest air ambulance region in the UK. This includes the communities of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, West Midlands, and Worcestershire, representing a population in excess of seven million.

3.    Our CQC rating - Outstanding: Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following inspections at its Cosford and Tatenhill airbases in August and September 2023, and its Strensham airbase in January 2024.

4.    Our charitable purpose: Over the last five years, on average the charity deployed to 4,000 missions each year. Each mission is delivered by a highly skilled clinical crew comprising of advanced pre-hospital emergency medicine doctors and critical care paramedics, all equipped with full life-support medical equipment to provide hospital-level care at the scene of an incident. The aircraft is additionally crewed by a specialist pilot, trained to fly and land safely in both complex urban environments and challenging rural locations.

5.    Our lifesaving service: Midlands Air Ambulance Charity operates three air ambulance helicopters from strategically located airbases at Cosford (on the Shropshire/West Midlands border), Tatenhill in Staffordshire, and Strensham Services on the M5 near the Gloucestershire/Worcestershire border. The charity also has a fleet critical care cars.

6.    Critical factors – time and critical care skills: Midlands Air Ambulance Charity brings advanced pre-hospital emergency care within an average of 10 minutes across the Midlands region. The sooner a patient receives enhanced pre-hospital emergency care on-scene, the greater their chances of survival and the better their outcome – see note 4 which outlines the crews specialist skills.

7.    Operational costs: The lifesaving service operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Each year it costs over £16million to keep the three charity helicopters and fleet of critical care cars operational. The charity receives no government funding for its services and relies entirely on donations, fundraising and community support to remain operational.
