The secret ingredient you didn't know you needed, it adds a different dimension to your usual salt and pepper.

Ideal for both building up flavour at the start of your cooking or for that little extra something before you serve up. It's become so popular in Steenbergs' heartland in the North of England, that it outsells Fleur de Sel in Booths.

Equally good as a table condiment, a pinch of Steenbergs Organic Perfect Salt Blend sprinkled over tomato salads, veggie dishes, meat and fish, adds some nice crunch and texture and a more rounded depth of flavour than sodium chloride alone. Steenbergs hand-blend Perfect Salt Blend in house at their eco-factory in Ripon, North Yorkshire, combining organic sea salt (82%) sundried in the Algarve, organic cracked black pepper, organic thyme, organic rubbed sage, organic oregano, organic marjoram herb, organic mint (spearmint), and organic parsley herb.

It's packed full of only organic ingredients - no fillers, artificial colours, flavours, anti-caking agents, or artificial preservatives, just good clean ingredients. The idea for the blend came about when the company's designer asked Steenbergs' co-founder Axel Steenberg to create an easy organic rub and seasoning blend for her summer holidays.

Since then, it's become something of a cult product among Steenbergs' fans. Says Sophie Steenberg: “It was designed to work with all sorts of ingredients and to do the heavy lifting when it comes to seasoning.

“I know quite a few of our customers buy the large jars in double digits and then give them to people as a thank you. It's the kind of thing you don't know you need until someone gifts you a pot.”

As well as being the seasoning for everything and making a lovely gift, it's also ideal for those looking to cut their salt consumption. Steenbergs Organic is a family-run business founded in 2003 and proudly rooted in rural North Yorkshire.
