Lesley, a resident at Harper Fields in Balsall Common had always wanted to go out for the day to see the animals so staff at the home made her wish a reality.
Lesley has lived at Harper Fields for nearly 4 years and is beloved by staff and residents alike. Staff at the home were delighted to be a part of making her dream come true, as they knew how much it meant to her, and they all wanted to be there to see the smile on Lesley’s face.
Staff first found out about Lesley’s dream a few months ago when she had an annual visit from LA and ever since then, they have been dedicated to helping her achieve it. Lesley was also accompanied by other residents and champions from Harper Fields who were there in support of this momentous occasion.
In response to this wonderful surprise, Lesley said: “I was so excited by the news of going out to see the animals at the nature centre, I loved every minute of the day.” Hayley Wilkinson, General Manager at the home, said: “We want everyone we care for to know how important they are to us here at Harper Fields.
“It was so nice to see how happy Lesley was – and the staff loved being a part of this as well.” Harper Fields care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering personalised care across its care homes and hospitals.
