At only 19 years old, American tennis player Coco Gauff wins her first Glam Slam title, taking home a whopping £2.4 million.

Gauff has spent a total of 868 minutes on her matches during this year's US Open, meaning that she earned a hefty £2,767 per minute! This amount represents a 27% increase compared to the earnings of the men's singles winner, Djokovic, at this year's US Open.

Fighting Coco Gauff for the Gram Slam title was finalist Aryna Sabalenka, who took home £1.2 million. The 25-year-old Belarusian professional played for a total duration of 638 minutes, meaning she earned a generous £1,882 per minute - £31 per second.

American professional tennis player Madison Keys lost the semi-final match against Aryna Sabalenka, but nevertheless took home £620,651. During her 567 minutes of single matches, Keys earned £1,094 per minute.

Although Jelena Ostapenko beat Iga Swiatek during the fourth round of the US Open, Swiftek earned more money per minute during the singles competition, due to a lower overall playtime. Due to women's matches generally having shorter durations than men's matches, each female singles player earned as much as or more than their male counterpart per minute, when finishing in the same position.
