Learners at Erdington Hall Primary, part of the Summit Learning Trust, were invited back to school last week, to take part in Easter booster sessions, before they sit their SATs tests in May.

As well as revising for the national tests that assess children have reached a certain standard as they leave primary school, learners were treated to fun playtimes and treats during the special holiday sessions. Staff at Erdington Hall, in Birmingham, take great pride and care of the children in their school and make sure they have the very best resources and learning environments they can provide.

Teachers are ambitious for learners, who are at the heart of everything the school does. Principal at Erdington Hall, Jenni Downes, said: “I am so pleased to have welcomed around two-thirds of our learners into school this week.

“We wanted to share the message that revision is great fun; it can be so beneficial. A little bit of extra effort now reaps benefits in the future. I am delighted to have seen so many smiling faces at our booster sessions this week.

“I would also like to thank the staff who came in during the holidays to run the sessions. This is all part of our strategy to give the children a boost of confidence and make sure they are confident in all areas of spelling, punctuation, arithmetic and grammar.

“We want to help them achieve the very best that they can.” Learners in Year 6 will take their SATs tests in class in mid-May.
